Sketch
In my final project, I didn't want to create a collage similar to previous works, but rather a design with tension. Therefore, I chose to have the characters' hands reach towards the camera to increase the impact of the composition.
Afterwards, based on the theme and content I wanted to express, I added notes, sheet music, clocks, and other factors. At this stage, I have already decided to add classical music as background music for this work.
Finally, I chose to add clouds and mist to the screen because I think the animation of clouds and mist would be very interesting and could add a sense of mystery and fantasy.

Progress
Firstly, I used tools such as magic wand to eliminate the unnecessary background of the photos I wanted to use.
Afterwards, I used tools such as a magic wand to select the entire palm and created a mask based on its contours.
Afterwards, I added all the images that I wanted to use on the mask and adjusted their transparency.
Afterwards, I found the prepared background and added it to the screen, located at the bottom of all layers.

I added clouds and mist afterwards. Although using the same material, I changed the shape and orientation of each image to make them more diverse.
Fig.2.1.7 Progress #4 - (Week 11, 3/12/2024)
I removed the prepared clock image, removed the background, and added it to the overall work.

The same steps should be applied to the prepared sheet music and note images. After adding it to the overall picture, I distorted its shape.

Finally, I created new filters and curve layers on the portrait and background layers to enhance the overall texture of the image.

FINAL OUTCOME

ARTISTIC STATEMENT:
This piece shows my journey through time and memories.
The backward clock represents revisiting my past,
while the faces and music connect who I was and who I am now.
The clouds show how memories can feel unclear but still meaningful.
It’s a story of growth, reflection, and finding myself and a wish that time may reverse.
Part 3. Execution and Post Production
Progress In Adobe Effects (and Premiere)
I first added a positional movement effect for each cloud layer, and made them not move in the same direction, which can make the dynamic of the picture more rich.
Fig.3.1.1 Progress #1 - Import / (Week 13, 16/12/2024)
I used a puppet tool on the hands of the main portrait images to allow them to move to a certain extent.
Fig.3.1.2 Progress #2 - Import / (Week 13, 16/12/2024)
Using the puppet tool that mimics the hand of the portrait layer, the same effect is also added to the masked layer, ensuring that the timing of all keyframes is consistent with the portrait layer. This ensures that the two layers always have the same changes.

Fig.3.1.4 Progress #4 - Import / (Week 13, 16/12/2024)
Added a fluctuation effect to the background, which was not covered in the previous tutorial. But in the process of trying, I found that this effect was very much in line with my expectations.

At the end, in order to add audio to the video, I imported the prepared video and audio into Adobe Premiere and synchronized them for 15 seconds.

REFLECTION
Experience:
For the final project, I defined the theme myself and created a poster related to music, time, and memories.
The overall production process was very enjoyable and there were no difficulties as in the past, as most of the techniques used in this project were integrated from the skills mastered in the past. After completing the concept and sketch, I used Photoshop for composition and collage, using masks, color adjustments, etc. Afterwards, I turned to Adobe After Effects to create animations.
I used a puppet tool that I had never used before, and it wasn't difficult. But we haven't learned how to add audio to the videos we create, so we self-taught how to use Adobe Premiere.
Observation:
I researched the usage of other special effects that I haven't learned this semester while using AE, which was very interesting. But I am referring to Mr After presenting the works of other classmates, Fauzi found that even with the skills he had learned, he could create stunning works. Therefore, it can be seen that a good idea and how to apply the knowledge and skills he has learned are very important for design.
Findings:
As the final project of this semester, it not only gave us students a high degree of freedom, but also involved all the knowledge and skills we learned. It was a very interesting summary and practical exercise of the semester's content, and I felt a great sense of achievement after completing it.
Most importantly, through this project, I have developed a strong interest in AE and Pr.
