Reflective Writing
When we first learned this module, we were introduced to the importance and powerful features of Adobe Photoshop. I also deeply understand this, because before this, I would have used Photoshop for painting and design. Although there are still many painting and design software, Adobe's software is the most comprehensive and powerful. I believe that a designer should master the usage of these software to some extent in order to create.
Although I didn't start using PS from scratch, the tools and usage scope of PS software itself are very extensive and broad, so many functions are still unfamiliar and difficult for me to master proficiently. Especially when the language used in this course is different from my native language, it is quite difficult for me to learn and remember some knowledge smoothly. The issue of different computer and Photoshop versions can also be very confusing for learners.
But no matter what, I know this is the difficulty I must face, because the learning process is inevitably boring and full of challenges, but I understand that after overcoming these difficulties, I will become a better designer.
To master the different tools you want to learn proficiently, you need to constantly practice. I believe that relying solely on homework assignments is not enough. I have tried to do extra training outside of class to better remember the tools I have learned. In addition, I believe that even if the course is completely over, we will not learn all the functions and things that PS can do, because its functions are too vast. However, the most important thing is to make use of the functions we have already mastered and use our creativity to design amazing works.
If learning Photoshop is only regarded as a necessary task for oneself, the entire learning process will become very tedious and it will be difficult to design satisfactory works. We should cultivate a love for designing and using Photoshop, which is not difficult because its features always surprise people, and these tools help us better design and create art.
But at the same time, I also believe that Photoshop has always been just a tool and platform to help us with design. While learning how to use it better, we should also enhance our own aesthetics and understanding of art and design, watch and appreciate more of others' works, in order to continuously learn and gain inspiration.
Finally, this project helped me better master the tools of Photoshop, which will facilitate my future creations. I think this course is very practical, but we should spend more time on design rather than text editing, which I think goes against the original intention of design.
